The short version
- You choose who belongs in your private, mutual Circle.
- Businesses receive only information needed for their own Wovch activity, not your full Circle or contact list.
- Wovch does not sell personal information or sell paid access to private Circle placement.
- We record the device and network your account signs in from, to stop one person running several accounts to collect rewards they did not earn.
This summary is for orientation only. The full text below is what applies.
What Wovch is
Wovch is a private trust network. People may create accounts independently, then connect through mutual requests or personal invitations, recommend businesses they genuinely trust, and discover those businesses through relationship context. Wovch is not a public follower network or a public directory of Circle recommendations.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, handle, email, sign-in details, profile information, optional location, preferences, and account settings.
Circle and recommendation information
We process Circle requests and connections, recommendations, searches, saved needs, asks, Wovch Passes, confirmations, Visit Notes, co-signs, disputes, and related activity.
Business information
For businesses, we may collect ownership and contact information, profile details, locations, staff roles, service information, confirmation activity, billing status, and payment information handled by payment providers.
Website and support information
When you submit a business or contact form, we collect the fields shown in that form. Website analytics are limited to coarse events such as page paths, CTA interactions, FAQ use, and form completion.
App analytics
We measure how the Wovch app is used so we can fix what confuses people. This is deliberately limited. We record which screens are opened, how long they are open, and named actions such as creating a recommendation, creating a Wovch Pass, or submitting a Visit Note. Our product analytics does not record your IP address. It does not record anything you type, including your searches, your notes, or the words you write about a business. Screen addresses are stripped of identifying parts before they are sent, so invitation codes and the identities of specific people and businesses are never included. Activity is linked to your internal account identifier only, never to your name, email address, or handle, and it is cleared when you sign out. Where session recordings are used to diagnose confusing screens, all on-screen text is masked, so the recording shows how the interface was used and never who or what it was about.
Technical and safety information
We process device, browser, network, log, security, and operational information needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect accounts and payments.
Fraud prevention: the device and network a sign-in comes from
Wovch keeps a record of the device and internet connection each account signs in from, and uses it to tell whether several accounts are being operated by one person. We do this because Wovch moves money on the strength of a visit somebody says took place, and the commonest way to take that money dishonestly is to run several accounts and collect rewards nobody earned. Comparing devices is how that is detected.
This information is used only to decide whether a reward, a charge, a payout or an account is genuine, and to investigate suspected abuse. It is never used to rank people or businesses, to decide what you are shown, or for advertising or marketing, and it is never sold. It is not visible to any member: no member can ask whether they, or anyone else, shares a device with another account. Access is limited to Wovch's own operations and to service providers acting for us. We keep it for as long as needed to protect payments and to meet legal and record-keeping duties, and you may ask what we hold about you.
How we use information
- Create and secure accounts.
- Operate mutual Circles and Circle-gated business discovery.
- Show the person and context behind a recommendation.
- Operate Wovch Pass, confirmation, Visit Note, reward, charge, dispute, and payout flows.
- Verify and support business profiles.
- Provide support and service communications.
- Protect integrity, safety, legal compliance, and reliability.
- Understand and improve the website and product.
Who can see what
Accepted Circle connections can discover the businesses you recommend in the intended Circle context. Businesses can see information tied to their own profile and Wovch activity where needed for service, confirmation, billing, disputes, or support. Businesses do not receive a copy of your full Circle, contact list, personal email, phone number, unrelated business activity, or payout details for marketing.
Photos
A photo you upload — a profile photo, or a photo on a recommendation — is stored privately and is visible only to you and to people in your accepted Circle. A photo a business adds to its own listing is visible to signed-in members, because a storefront picture is meant for people deciding whether to visit. Photos are not publicly accessible: they are served through short-lived private links rather than public web addresses.
Being found by other people
Wovch has no public member directory. Someone can find you only if they already know your exact handle or your full name, or if you share a private invite link with them. Wovch does not return partial-name matches and does not list members to anyone who is not signed in.
Service providers and legal sharing
Wovch uses providers for hosting, databases, authentication, email, analytics, security, customer support, payment processing, identity verification, and payouts. They process information for Wovch under applicable agreements. We may also share information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, complete a business transaction, or with your direction.
Sale and advertising
Wovch does not sell personal information and does not operate an advertising business based on member attention. Paid participation does not buy access to a person’s private Circle or placement inside Circle recommendations.
Your choices and rights
- Choose who belongs in your Circle.
- Edit available profile and business information.
- Decline optional location access.
- Manage communications where choices are offered.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available where you live.
- Request account deletion, subject to unresolved activity and lawful retention.
Retention and security
Wovch retains information for as long as reasonably needed for the service, account relationships, charges, rewards, payouts, disputes, taxes, safety, fraud prevention, legal duties, and enforcement. Retention varies by record and jurisdiction. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and regional rights
You must be legally able to create a Wovch account where you live. Additional privacy rights and age rules may apply by location. Contact Wovch to exercise a right or ask how it applies to you.
Changes
Wovch may update this policy and will provide notice when legally required. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate website, email, or in-app notice.
